Privacy policy

Settle Sound collects nothing. Everything you do in the app stays on your device.

What we collect

  • Nothing. Settle Sound does not collect or send any data from your device.
  • There is no account or sign-in, and no Settle Sound server.
  • The app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code.

On your device

  • Your routines, settings, listening stats and badges are stored on your device only.
  • Deleting the app deletes all of it.
  • If you back up your phone to iCloud or Google, the backup may include this data, under Apple's or Google's own terms.

Permissions

  • Settle Sound never asks for or uses your microphone.
  • You will never be asked for microphone access. The iPhone app includes a microphone description only because its built-in audio engine contains recording code that Settle Sound does not use.
  • On Android 13 and later it asks to show notifications, only to give you playback controls in your notifications and on the lock screen. If you say no, sounds still play.

Purchases

  • A one-off purchase to unlock building your own routines is coming soon.
  • Purchases are handled entirely by the App Store or Google Play.
  • Settle Sound never sees your payment details.
  • Your purchase is checked with the store on your device. Nothing is sent to us.

Crash reports

  • Apple and Google share crash and diagnostic reports with app developers only if you have opted in on your phone.
  • These reports are not linked to you.

Third parties

  • No data is shared with third parties.
  • No ads, and no tracking across other apps or websites.
  • Links to research and credits open in your web browser, where those websites' own privacy policies apply.

This website

  • settlesound.com is separate from the app.
  • It uses Google Analytics, through Google Tag Manager, to count visits. Google Analytics sets cookies. See how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
  • It also uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not set cookies.
  • Cloudflare hosts the site and processes IP addresses to serve it securely.
  • If you play the little game shown when a page can't be found, your best score is kept in your browser only.
  • You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings.
  • The app itself has none of this.

Children

  • Settle Sound is designed for adults.
  • Nothing is collected from anyone, including children.

Changes

  • Any updates to this policy will be posted on this page, with the date they were made.
